Yeah I agree with Taylor Wright , I ordered steak & it was a bit too raw. I asked them to cook it a little. The waitress forgot & when it came back. It was as hard as leather. Nothing to write home about. Haven't been back since.
Like a flying bisquit
Breakfast served until 3 pm
The menu is online
There is a small room in the back of the restaurant, but it cannot be reserved for private parties. You can request it, but they won't guarantee it, especially on the weekend.
Delicious!
Nice small restaurant. Lots of art color and huge emphasis on their Mimosa’s. Food was good, very filling! This is a good place to go in a group of 2-4 and just have a good time and eat. If your coming to Atlanta , make sure that you stop to a Flying Biscuit Cafe.
I try to visit this place every time I’m home for the shrimp & grits. And they never disappoint! Always really good food and service, parking is a pain but that’s Downtown ATL for ya! Depending on what time you go, there could be a long wait, kinda to be expected anywhere there’s good food. Kinda wish they threw the biscuits like the original namesake says but it’s still a good vibe nonetheless. It’s lost some of the hidden jewel feel from before the hipsters got a hold of it like the rest of Little Five Points. But a total must-visit destination in Atlanta!
The garden fresh veggies scramble with potatoes is my go-to meal when I'm in town, and it's delicious every time. The servers are genuine and the cooks are amazing and jovial. Should you dine alone you won't *feel* alone when you're here.
The only thing they need to learn how to do is make grits taste someone needs to teach them how to make smooth grits
This is a must visit in Atlanta. If you go for breakfast on the weekends be prepared to wait but it is definitely worth it. The vibe here is so cool. Very fun and colorful interior. The service is attentive and efficient. The food is incredible. There is so much to choose from. We ordered the Piedmont Omelet, that came with one of their amazing biscuits and fried potatoes, plus I ordered the creamy grits, the Chorizo Hash which also came with a biscuit, and the French Toast. See the attached photos. You won't be disappointed! Please "like" this review if it was helpful. Thanks!
We ate a quick breakfast here on our way to the airport leaving Atlanta. The menu was all you could ask for as a southern breakfast.I don't eat eggs, so pancakes or French toast are my usual selections.I had the French toast, and it was good, though the fruit sauce on top was too sweet for my taste. That is common in the south though, so it's not a negative, just an observation. My wife had eggs, biscuits, bacon, and sausage. It must have been good because her plates were empty before we left.I'd certainly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy a large southern breakfast at a reasonable price. I forgot total, but I believe both breakfasts totalled about 20$
I have tried the shrimp and grits on one visit. This dish was everything I wanted it to be. On my second visit I had the pimento cheese appetizer. Being a cheese connoisseur, this dish had some bold flavor that I am glad I tasted.Fyi- the French Toast looked good from afar and has raspberry sauce for a topping.
Let me tell you about the fun we just had for breakfast.Dana, Maddie, Keisha, T.T and Ida were a complete delight.Dana is a wonderful servant- she made the meal even more enjoyable with her kindness. The Flying Buiscuit has been my special place since forever ago.The Candler Park location is Sunshiny corner of town.I love the food and I love the people.
Great menu, great food, great pricing… love the quaint Candler location!
Oh this was so good. We were so hungry after we got out of the airport and this was one of the places we wanted to visit. A biscuit comes with almost every meal. It was so fluffy and yummy. Wish we had time to visit again before our trip ended. But if I ever visit Atlanta again this place is 100% a must eat for breakfast!
Amazing food 🤤 Everything was so, soo warm, delicious and well made. The fun, quirky atmosphere is one of a kind and everyone working there was friendly. Great service from our waiter Chris too! Memorable food and experience- wish I lived here so I could come again!
To much to list. Let's just say things are not even close to a good dining experience at this location after covid. Way different in service and quality than what I'm accustomed to at flying biscuit. Was totally dissatisfied with the meal... the disappointing thing is this was my first meal out since the beginning of march.
The staff was extremely pleasant! The food was out super fast and it was delicious! I'll be back whenever I come back to town!
The original home of the Flying Biscuit. I came here with pretty much no expectations. I’m not from Atlanta and I had never heard the legend...being a Californian biscuits and gravy were not part of life growing up. After eating here, I can safely say that ANYONE visiting Atlanta MUST come here. This is southern food at its B-E-S-T. The grits—WHAT!? I didn’t know something like this existed. The muffin with their special apple butter jam—excuse me!? This was made here on earth!? Honestly I took a bite of it and the waitress came by and laughed at the expression on my face. I was in heaven. Just come eat here...honestly, I can’t put in to words just HOW good this food is.
Great southern style cooking with great flavors. The grits are really proper and the side apple-cranberry sauce delicious. The only downside was the not so flaky biscuits. But nice decor and attentive service.
The set up was ok but to close . Customer service could be a whole lot better
Egg stravaganza was very good! The building is old and has that old building smell but the food is top notch... they have the BEST grits I believe I’ve ever tasted
Fantastic restaurant (complete with charming decor and great vibe) with a great, diverse staff, and delicious food. The biscuits and gravy were great and the grits were the best I've ever had in my life.
Really enjoyed this place. This was my first time going. It wasn't too overcrowded on labor day. We decided to get breakfast food. I had the eggstravaganza but added some veggies to it. It was quite delicious. I totally understand the name because the biscuits were amazing! I did have to send one thing back which was the fried green tomatoes. It had two "interesting" toppings on it that even my waitress didn't know what it was. Besides that I'll definitely be going back.
This was our first time eating at The Flying Biscuit and we weren't disappointed. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. We were seated immediately, with very little wait time for our food and drinks - all of which were delicious!! Needless to say, it was a positive experience and we will return.
The Piedmont Omelet with the dreamy creamy grits is awesome and the staff is very friendly. Its top quality food and customer service.
A neighborhood favorite. The line is often long at times but the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. The food is well executed and comfort food. Orders come out quickly once seated and the menu is solid. Definitely recommend if you are hungry and looking for some home cooking or a solid brunch spot. 4.5
Always have a great breakfast with great service.. There can often be a wait, but it is worth it..
We waited for about 30 minutes but but but it was worth it. The food was great. The creamiest grits I've ever had with vegan collard green eggs (so good). My friends and I stayed for 2 and a half hours. Great atmosphere. Definitely going back. And the food was decently priced.
There is always a wait, but their Shrimp and Grits were amazing and the creamy dreamy grits are a must.
Google maps led us to the location on McLendon Ave & even though we had to park on the side of the road & walk a block, it was so worth it! I had the chicken pot pie, comes with 2 biscuits. They are a little sweeter than regular buttermilk biscuits but so fluffy & tasty! My husband had the scrambled eggs, gravy & biscuits. You can tell everything is homemade. Atmosphere is a little loud because it's in an old building but very welcoming. Loved the artwork on the walls & custom ceiling tiles too. Hannah was our waitress & did an excellent job. We'll be coming back here again soon!
Delicious breakfast and brunch. The Candler Park location is is my favorite of all the Flying Biscuits. From the painted walls to the colorful table-coverings - the aesthetic is perfect. The pancakes were amazing, the grits to die for, of course the biscuits are amazing (I love the crispy tops on them!) And I am forever in love with the chicken-potpie they make here. All around a excellent place to eat, I recommend coming at least once (and preferably many times to come.)
This was my first time at this location. Very quaint. Good morning vibe with lots of positive energy. Quick excellent service and good food. I had the Salmon scrabble 😋. The grits and biscuits are always on point. I shall return, maybe with a companion.
This was my favorite place to eat, not anymore. I have never seen such a high turnover rate at a business. I’ve been eating here for years. The last 7 months I watch people come and go. The management is HORRIBLE. I’ve witnessed the female manager be very disrespectful to an employee unaware she can be heard. I love the flying biscuit but candler park location is the worse.
Absolutely delicious food - amazing biscuits (to be expected), but the grits were out of this world, the benedict sauce and french toast sauce was amazing. Really, really good food. The service was warm and friendly (thanks Bubbles!). A great time and a delicious (and filling!) meal, at a surprisingly valuable price. Can't rate the experience highly enough. (That being said, we must've timed it just right because it got really busy, fast.)
Never disappoints. Especially the original near Candler Park with the bakery Nextdoor. Love those mile- high biscuits, greatest grits and ever flowing coffee. Very eclectic atmosphere any time of day.
Cute little restaurant. Fun artwork on the walls. Food was good, very filling! Mimosa had the taste of very cheap champagne. Seating was a bit cramped for us bigger folk. I would come back and eat again.
I've been a customer for years and Flying Biscuit never disappoints. I've been to their other locales on Piedmont and W Paces Ferry. Consistent every time. The service has always been great as well. An Atlanta staple.
Flying biscuit is always good...the grits are the best bar none!!
Great place for dinner. Dayna, my server was extremely pleasant to talk to and she did an excellent job in suggesting my meal choice. Will definitely be back!
Food is always amazing and service quick! I like this location the best wait time and atmosphere wise
I’m a usual visitor of this location. The food is good. Hands down. But the customer service needs work. The most pressing issue was the hostess. She had an obvious bias towards POCs. Her behavior/attitude towards anyone who was not white was very dismissive. She seems bothered by our presence and was not helpful and/or accommodating. However, she presented extreme customer service to the White customers that visited. I hope this is not a standard practice at this location.
Excellent food and service! It's super cute in a fun eclectic way. I would definitely return! It's a plus there are multiple locations since they are a very popular restaurant.
I ordered pick up for two wake up burgers that was supposed to come with a half pound patties, that I ordered medium. What I got was two maybe 1/8lb patties on a bun. They were so over cooked if felt like I was eating a brillo pad. It was absolutely the worst hamburger I have ever had. Service was fine but the food was good awful for a burger that's around $11.
The staff is helpful , they serve breakfast all day . The food is decent.
Latisha is the best ever! So kind and attentive to me and my bestie the whole time. The food was excellent but her presence made it over the top. It's really hard to find the best food and service in the city. The flying biscuit definitely best place for brunch.
-5 stars. I am here outside the flying biscuit waiting on an order I placed over the phone over 2 hours ago, there are ppl out here who’ve been waiting 3 hours. It’s honestly not worth coming and waiting. The staff is rude and could care less about how long you’re waiting. They offer no apologies for the inconvenience. They are unorganized and need to put a system in place to prevent a mob of upset, and dissatisfied customers waiting outside.
Our waiter was very nice and great about substituting various sides for my GF and friends. I got french toast and the honey cream anglaise was dope as hell. 10/10 would recommend. Also the biscuits are pretty dank. Put some nice jam on them
Great food. I take my family here when they come to visit. The mimosas are good and large!
Great food, great service, clean and efficient. Rory and Kenya really took care of us. I would highly recommend to others!
Worst service ever! Some family members and I arrived at 2:38 PM, we reserved a spot, and we waited 30 minutes next door to be seated. We patiently waited to be seated just for one of the workers to tell us she forgot to put us on the list, so we patiently waited some more. When they finally seated us, they moved us to another area because we were a larger group, but it was super cold! A server finally comes and asks us for drink orders and comes back and asks for food orders in a very disrespectful manner. She was talking over us, not letting us finish our orders and 4:30 comes around and guess what? No food or drinks! The server didn’t even ask if we were okay, so we came to a conclusion to just leave, but didn’t want to at first because people were saying how the food was amazing. It might be, but in this experience, we felt very disrespected. They are horrible and if I could give this specific restaurant no stars, I would! That is ridiculous!
Still forever a classic and a great place to actually feel slowed down in the forever rush of Atlanta life. Such friendly service and sumptuous food. Always love visiting and the original location is still the most authentic!
The food there is so good!! Its a definite must go back when I'm in the area the staff are sweet
This is a hole in the wall with below standard breakfast. Over easy eggs were under cooked, the sausage was hard, the grits were salty, the biscuits were dry and cold. I will not be coming back.
Great food! Mimosas were big and good (try the pineapple mimosa). Everyone really liked their choices. The shrimp and grits was absolutely phenomenal. Ive been back to other locations since this visit, and this location was still the best yet.
